ACTIVE AND SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE
Graduates and friends of the School continued to take action with the Foundation with two projects in the spotlight in 2017: social and cultural inclusion and student projects.

My contribution for Audencia
Last July, the Audencia Business School Foundation team received a message from a dedicated and determined student. The title, “My Contribution for Audencia”, announced the spontaneous commitment of a newly graduated student. After four years at Audencia Business School, Florent Fauchère, now with Heuler Hermes UK, decided to get involved with the Foundation’s teams to incite a growing number of graduates to take action on the theme of social and cultural inclusion. Here he explains his motives: “A new page in my life has turned after graduating (GE 2017) and getting my first job! It was then that I reflected on how I wanted to continue to be involved with my school and its students – off campus – and in my professional life. My idea is to use my energy to promote an issue that is dear to me, social diversity within the school. To do so, I propose to dedicate my time to promoting the visibility of scholarship projects of the Audencia Business School Foundation within the Alumni network. ”
Following his proposal, the Foundation entrusted Florent with launching the call for donations, as part of the end-of-year collection, for social and cultural inclusion. Call heard! In all, in 2017, Audencia Business School graduates donated nearly 40,000 euros to finance social and cultural inclusion grants !

Class Gift: the fund for student projects doubled
The Class Gift 2017, backed by the collective involvement of Audencia Business School staff, students of the 2017 class year (represented by their ambassador Julien Denis) and their sponsor EY culminated at the end of the graduation ceremony with a collection of 4,770 euros. The fund, which is designed to finance student projects, has therefore doubled compared with 2016. The money will be distributed between one or more student projects next spring. As last year, the funds will be handed over in two phases. The students will “pitch” their project before a committee in charge of selecting the finalists, and the donors will then vote online to select the winning project.

Matching gift: companies encourage individuals to make donations
In 2017, corporate sponsors EY and CIC Ouest encouraged our graduates to support the Audencia Business School Foundation based on the Matching Gift principle: the company undertakes to double the donations made by graduates as part of a collection by the Audencia Foundation. Jean-Pierre Letartre, President of EY France, has undertaken with the students of the 2017 class year to double their Class Gift donations to support future student projects. Laurent Métral, Managing Director of CIC Ouest, suggested the alumni to double the donations made as part of the annual fund to finance social and cultural inclusion grants.
HELPING COMPANIES TO CHANGE
The research chairs, helped by their sponsors and partners, continued their research-action work for the benefit of Audencia Business School stakeholders and society at large.

The Family Business and Entrepreneurship chair renewed for four years
With a unique positioning in France on family entrepreneurship, the Family Business and Entrepreneurship chair has started a new four-year term, thanks to the support of CIC Ouest/CM-CIC Investment, EY and Europcar Atlantique who all re-enlisted. These patrons welcome a newcomer to their circle – the Pays de la Loire Regional Council – while the chair has acquired a new partner, the Pays de la Loire Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which joins the French Business Movement (MEDEF) for the Vendée region. As part of its activities in 2017, the chair hosted seven meetings with management clubs or corporate networks – attended by a total of one hundred and ninety people – in the form of workshops and conferences designed feed back research work to companies or project supervisors, particularly with regard to the emotional complexity facing successors and assignors in family businesses. The chair also facilitated two workshops as part of the days organized by the FBN (Family business network) association and awarded their certificates to the participants in the third class-year of the “Future family business leaders” course. Finally, mention should be made of the organization of a cycle of four workshops and a conference, in partnership with the NAPF association (financial center of the West of France) to help leaders of family businesses prepare the transfer of their companies by inheritance. All of these programs and successes have allowed the chair of Audencia Business School to become the national consultant of the global research program STEP (Successful transgenerational entrepreneurship practices) on family businesses.

#Negotraining creates media buzz
The #Negotraining course – designed to train any woman, whether employed or not, domiciled or not in the Greater Nantes area, in wage bargaining to reduce gender inequality – continues to be talked about. Radios, televisions and newspapers relayed this initiative of the Corporate social responsibility (CSR) chair of Audencia Business School as never before. The goal being to train 1,000 women by the end of 2018 and 5,000 by the end of 2020 within the Greater Nantes area, the #Négotraining operation is one of those societal innovations that will move the lines. Inspired by an American experiment conducted in Boston, USA, the CSR chair was joined by numerous partners and professional networks federated within the CSR platform of the Greater Nantes area.

Managerial innovation: end of clichés on generations Y and Z
71% of Generation Y and Z employees say they do not want to become a manager or take the place of their manager! Published in November 2017, the study by the chair of Managerial Innovation of Audencia Business School conducted in partnership with BVA was designed to improve the understanding of the expectations of employees as to the managerial practices at work in their company. In particular the results query certain myths often presented by the proponents of managerial innovations as truths, to justify new management practices. The study was given wide media coverage, with twenty articles in the press, a report on the 8pm news program on France 2 and on BFM TV.

Educational innovation: Future Laboratory
Audencia’s Future Laboratory launches project grants that meet the new needs of companies, such as seeking hybrid solutions to changes in their customers’ consumption patterns. Analyzing the issues is no longer sufficient: companies expect “profitable” creativity from their employees, opening up new potential for their development. It is against this background that Carrefour and Bucher Vaslin played the laboratory’s game by launching new challenges for students taking the Specialized Masters® SMED (Marketing Strategies in the Digital Age) and MDC (Marketing, Design and Creation) courses, such as imagining the store of the future. Supported in each phase by the faculty acting as coaches, at the same time the students applied the knowledge and methodologies developed previously in class. Businesses benefit from “operational” recommendations, imbued with the latest Generation Y tools and ideas.

Preparation of the new campaign
2018
Preparation of the new campaign
In 2018, the Audencia Business School Foundation will begin the preparatory phase of the new campaign. Different issues of research-actions will be explored. In line with societal changes, Audencia will continue to support organizations on key themes. Talent management, cybersecurity, big data analytics and privacy: all topics that will help to better understand the issues that are crucial for organizations. What do customers and consumers expect in terms of personalization and respect for private data? How can an organization maintain and increase its business efficiency while ensuring ethical management of its data? How can an organization be protected against the new challenges of cyber security? How can employees be helped to develop? The year ahead looks promising !
