New articles of association: finished!

Two years of work. That is the time it took to update the articles of association of Audencia Business School, with the creation on 1 February 2018 of a Consular Higher Education Institution (EESC). José Maciel, Financial and Administrative Director of Audencia Business School, one of the main stakeholders in the transformation, talks about its origin and objectives: “We began the process more than two years ago, in order to be able to face the new constraints arising from the change in the scope of our financing and to provide tools for responding to Audencia’s development prospects. As an EESC, our status strengthens our autonomy of management and decision-making. It provides the school with a legal entity that has the capacity to seek new funding, notably through the transfer to this new entity of the Atlantic campus building, formerly owned by the public-private entity which has been wound down.” José Maciel clarifies the typology of the new framework: “Legally, it is similar to an individual under private law, backed by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry to further guarantee our general interest assignment as providers of initial and executive education. In addition, the other local authorities that are partners with us – the Greater Nantes metropolitan authority and the Pays de la Loire Regional Council – will still be present in the governance of the EESC, sitting on the Board of Directors.”
