MEDIACAMPUS: a diversified ecosystem
On September 8, the day of the inauguration of the MEDIACAMPUS – the state-of-the-art building with 6000 square meters of floor space installed in the heart of the Quartier de la création, on the Isle de Nantes – could have merited a complete article on its own in the 2017 annual report, given the exceptional turnout and the number of people who relayed the information on the social networks. However, a ‘clinical’ description of the event is of less interest to Laurence Crespel, Director of Audencia SciencesCom, than the ability of this new venue to become a pivotal player – metropolitan, regional and national – in the communication and media sectors. “The MEDIACAMPUS is an extraordinary building it’s true, but the focus should be above all on the quality and ambition of the people in it and who will make it work in the future. We play host to TéléNantes, companies and communication agencies, various media, start-ups and networks, such as our friends from the Press Club or the Pays de la Loire Association of Communication Professionals (APCOM), to name but a few. Our students and researchers will benefit from a unique abundance of skills and opportunities on such a scale. The fundamental structural changes occurring in our business sectors required permanent proximity with the companies of the sector, in the broad sense of the term. The cooperation and buzz affecting the players in this fast-changing sector are more than ever necessary so that young people can become acquainted with all of these upheavals.”
